Delta Willa D. White was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Epsilon Eta Chapter at Stillman College, Fall 1966. She received her B.S. from Stillman College, a MEd from the University of Illinois, and completed additional study at Indiana University. Her professional career spanned well over 40 years. As an educator, she spent 42 years teaching at the School City of East Chicago, Indiana as a high school math teacher and 2 additional years as a 7th-grade math teacher with School City of Gary, Indiana.
Delta Willa’s hobbies include creative writing, crafting, gardening, and volunteering for positions that do not imply fame or monetary gain. In her additional time, Delta Willa has taught Sunday School for 25 years, served as a US Census volunteer and distributed over 500 pieces of literature, served twice as the elected Secretary of the DeSoto County Branch of NAACP, provided free notary service in the community, volunteered to help pack over 10,000 meals for the AARP, volunteered for a reading program that benefited students in Shelby County Schools, and raised almost $1000.00 within 24 hours for a family impacted by fire.
Soror Willa has been married for 42 years and has 2.8 children and 11 grandchildren. She brags about how the .8 child has stolen her heart, her time, and takes all of her money.
