Legacy of Leadership

Honoring the presidents who shaped DCAC's first decade.

From chartering the chapter to expanding service into Tate County, each administration strengthened the chapter's foundation for scholarship, sisterhood, and community impact.

2021-2023

LaToya Silas-Rogers

  • Added Tate County to the chapter's service area.
  • Celebrated four chapter members serving on the Regional Leadership team.
  • Hosted the 25th National President, Dr. Paulette C. Walker, during the 2023 Founders Day.
  • Presented the first annual DeSoto Fest: A Celebration of Cultures, where more than 700 people participated or attended.
  • Awarded 14 high school seniors with college scholarships.
  • Charter Member.
2019-2021

Shirley R. Garrett

  • Led the chapter successfully through a pandemic.
  • Established the virtual platform that allowed for continued service to the DeSoto County community.
  • Charter Member.
2017-2019

Dr. E. Darlene Williams

  • Through strong membership retention and reclamation, the chapter grew and maintained a membership of more than 100 members.
  • In 2018-2019, DCAC initiated its inaugural membership intake line, 32 Forces of InDSTructible Fortitude.
  • Charter Member.
